IKEA Sniglar Bar Cart Hack
I was browsing through Facebook Marketplace last week and saw this IKEA Sniglar Changing Table for $10! I immediately scanned Pinterest for Ikea Sniglar hacks and found this blog post from Satori Design For Living about turning the Sniglar changing table into a bar cart.
I’ve been wanting a bar cart for a while, but knew it was something I could DIY with the right stand. If you’re a mom with a change table you’re no longer using, there are a ton of hacks on Pinterest for turning different change tables into bar carts.
Kris cleared out a spot in the basement for me to spray paint the stand, and I used a glossy white by Rustoleum. It took two cans, but there are a few spots I’m going to touch up, which you’ll notice in the photos. In the blog post, she cut down the legs and added casters, which we didn’t do- I LOVE the look of casters on it, but we have pets and a 7 year old, so I wasn’t sure I wanted breakable dishes being displayed on something with wheels. Adding casters is super easy though, so it’s something I’ll consider adding in the future.
I was going to buy a towel bar from amazon, but found this one from the Dollarama instead, and it fit perfectly. You can add screws to hold it down, but I left that out for now in case I decide to go with another towel rack in the future. If you’re planning on using your cart for wine, you can also add a screw in wine bottle & glass holder to the bottom of the first shelf.
I had so much fun decorating it for Halloween, and I’m already thinking of what to do for our Christmas display! I’m also really loving the bar cart because it keeps the clutter of our holiday decor off of our countertops.
