7 Beach Vacation Looks | Plus Size Style Guide
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I recently took my annual trip to Shediac!
I had a lot of fun with outfits this trip, and although I WILL be making a blog post detailing the entire trip, I also wanted to do one specifically breaking down my outfits!
It’s only a two hour drive or so from where I live to Shediac, but I was travelling with my 6 year old son and one year old beagle, so I knew we would have to make some stops.
I wanted to be comfortable, so I chose my favourite Old Navy dress and Chavah Lindsay scrunchie. When we got to Shediac, the first thing we did was visit the Big Lobster, and that’s where I bought this hat (which I ended up wearing the entire trip)
Also, since we were at the ocean and there was lots of lovely ocean breeze, I ALWAYS wore biker shorts under my dresses.
I ended up wearing this same outfit a couple of days later to the beach.
My mom captured a couple of photos of me in the water and I love how this outfit looks against the ocean. It was a nice light beach wear, while still providing me with lots of sun protection (I burn very easily even with sunblock).
On the evening of our first night there, we went to the drive-in theatre. I wanted to be super comfortable, so I wore my favourite Hanes crew neck sweater, and shorts. I don’t have a full body picture because it was a busy night, but I’m OBSESSED with this sweater. I’ve had it for over a year and I’m ordering more- they’re the BEST.
I also wore it on our last day for another trip to the Big Lobster.
On our second day there, we went to lunch on the wharf with friends, so I wanted to wear something fun and breezy.
I went with my new dress from Penningtons, and Pineapple purse from Call It Spring. The dress came in three patterns, and is still available on their website (on sale!) so I’ll link it HERE. The pineapple purse was also on sale but its no longer available.
I LOVE this dress! It’s navy and white stripes, but looks black and white in the photos. I actually have a long sleeved blouse in the exact same print and same neckline, and I love it too. It’s light and airy, but can still transition into Fall with a nice cardigan.
The pineapple purse was SO much fun, and I got a lot of compliments on it. I think novelty bags are just a really fun way to bring a little something extra into any outfit.
Because it can get quite breezy on the wharf, I added a blue and white shall I got at Sears before they closed.
We went out to dinner and then back to the Wharf that evening for sunset, so I changed into a different navy dress from Old Navy, and wore my Donald Duck life buoy purse from Call It Spring. I didn’t get any cute pictures of this, but managed to grab this mirror selfie.
This next one I wore to the beach on our second day there, after our wharf lunch. I had a white and blue Old Navy seersucker bathing suit on under this Penningtons cover-up dress that I got a couple years ago.
My sun hat is from Walmart, and has a really cute bow in the back.
My last outfit isn’t “stylish” but it was SO fun. I bought matching t-shirts for Mason and I at The Children’s Place online (free shipping all the time!).
They were so fun to wear, and everyone thought they were really cute.
The Children’s Place actually has really cute matching family outfits and pyjamas for Halloween and Christmas too, and most of them are on sale right now! They go all the way up to size 3X, which is amazing! I may have ordered something for us for Christmas too that you’ll see soon!
Tip: For some reason, seasonal stuff doesn’t always show up on the main sections on the website. You will find more products by using the search bar at the top to search things like “Christmas” or “Halloween”
So that’s my weekend’s worth of outfits! Comment below and let me know which was your favourite!
