The Sandbar & Old Friends
During our recent trip to Shediac, we met up with some old friends at The Sandbar, on the Pointe Du Chene wharf. It was my first time trying The Sandbar, and they did not disappoint. I wanted to post this Wednesday Brunch about our experience there, because even if we didn’t technically have brunch there, it was worth writing about!
Before lunch, we got there early and took a few photos on the wharf. See more info about my outfit & pineapple purse HERE.
We went to The Sandbar twice during our trip. The first time was for lunch with two friends from Moncton. If you know me, you know that I RARELY drink, but there’s something about being on vacation (especially being at the beach) that makes you want to indulge in a fun cocktail. My mom and I both got the “Spiked Kool-Aid” cocktail.
The Food
The food at The Sandbar was nothing short of amazing. They are primarily a seafood restaurant, but have a number of other options as well. Mason and I aren’t fans of seafood, so during our first visit there, we choose something else, while the rest of our party got seafood. On our second visit there, we went for Supper, and my mom and I split two dishes (the BBQ Chicken Nachos, and the Club & Poutine) and Mason got chicken strips. The portions were massive (as shown), and everything was delicious. They had no issues with substitutions (ex: no peppers on the nachos please), and the servers were extremely friendly and attentive.
The Sandbar is right on the ocean, so the first time we went we sat on the patio and it was amazing. It’s so relaxing hearing the waves hit the pier and watching the boats go by.
Old & New Friends
Mason got to meet my friend Amy’s daughter for the first time, and they had so much fun on the wharf together! It’s the coolest thing watching your child interact with your friend’s child.
This is Amy & I. She lived two houses down from me growing up!
One of our oldest family friends, Jessica (my mom & hers are best friends) came to Shediac with Amy to meet us for lunch! As you can see, the kids loved her.
A fancy slushie
On our second trip to The Sandbar, Mason saw the two slushie machines that they use for the Kool-Aid and Lemonade cocktails and wanted one. I asked the server, and she said that they add the alcohol in after for the cocktails, so he could absolutely get a fancy mock-tail! He was so excited, and it was a fun treat.
After Supper, we walked around the wharf and got ice cream, but I’ll talk about that more in my vacation recap post!
Have you tried The Sandbar? Let me know what you thought in the comments!
