What's In My Beach Bag | 2021

There’s nothing like a good old fashioned “What’s In My Beach Bag” post, right? If you didn’t catch my one from last year, you can see it HERE.
You’ll notice that I’m packing very similar items as last year- because why mess with what works, right? I also bring a second bag for my son with his sand toys, towel and sunblock, as well as a cooler with drinks and snacks.
Last year I used my LL Bean Boat and Tote as my beach bag, but this year I’m using the boat and tote for other things, so I’m trying out my new watermelon bag from Aldo instead. I LOVE novelty bags, and this watermelon one was too cute to pass up.
Here’s what I’m taking in my beach bag this year:
1- My sunglasses
I bought these Ray Ban Wayfarer 2’s last year and LOVE them. They are my favourite daily accessory, so of course they will be accompanying me to the beach.
2- a water bottle
I recently bought this water bottle at Atlantic Superstore for around $16, and it keeps my water super cold. I’ve been considering investing in a Yeti bottle, so if any of you have one, let me know how you like it!
3- coconut hair oil
Beach hair, don’t care? No, I care lol. I always bring some sort of detangler or hair oil because long hair + salt and sand= tangle city. Also not pictured that I bring is a Wet Brush, which is the BEST hairbrush I’ve ever used, especially for tangled beach hair.
4- spf lip balm
I LOVE the Sun Bum SPF 30 lip balm in coconut. I’m a huge fan of lip care, and SPF is so important if you’re going to be in the sun for any amount of time. This particular lip balm is super smooth and tastes like Summer! I love it.
5- Sunblock
I’m not normally a fan of spray on sunblock, but this one has me sold. It has an amazing coconut smell (like better than any other sunblock I’ve had), goes on super evenly- but most importantly, it’s hypoallergenic, reef friendly, cruelty free, vegan, oil free, paraben free, and gluten free.
6- makeup remover wipes
I like to bring face wipes to get rid of the salt and sand before reapplying sunblock. I don’t currently have a favourite, but I picked up these oil free wipes and really like them. I have to get oil free because of my lash extensions and these ones have a really nice grapefruit scent!
7- body lotion
Body lotion isn’t typically a beach day item for me, but I’m obsessed with the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, and their Coco Cabana Cream! The full size versions are pricey, but I’ve gotten these samples sizes a few times, and they’re perfect for throwing into your beach bag or purse. Both of these creams smell like Summer, with the Bum Bum Cream being a stronger more longer lasting scent.
8- A Scrunchie
Last year I talked about the Chavah Lindsay Swim Scrunchies, and they’re still my favourite for the beach and pool! I’m planning on ordering some new ones soon because I love them so much. They’re made from swimwear fabric, and won’t absorb water when you’re swimming, and they come in fun Summer colours.
bonus- a book!
I’ve been searching for the perfect new beach read (aside from the actual book Beach Read, which I LOVED!), and I’ve settled on “People We Meet On Vacation”, by Emily Henry! I just ordered it, so I’ll post my review once I’m done reading it!
